Exovera began in 2006 as a SOSi media monitoring and analysis program under contract with U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM).

In 2012, Exovera was established as a separate self-funded commercial enterprise and wholly-owned subsidiary of SOSi.

Exovera’s parent company, SOSi, announced its acquisition of Denmark-based advanced analytics software maker NorthStar Systems. The company also announced a strategic investment in language technologies developer, AppTek, to enhance Exovera’s automatic speech recognition, machine translation, and natural language understanding offerings. Exovera’s team of data scientists and engineers have integrated these companies’ tools with their Narratives and EPIC platforms to enhance U.S. intelligence and law enforcement operations.
