Exovera’s report, “PLA Service and Theater Command Articles Published in February, 2025” analyzes 135 Chinese- and English-language articles published across the PLA’s official media platforms. The report categorizes updates across the four Services—Army, Navy, Air Force, and Rocket Force—and five Theater Commands. February saw a notable uptick in media activity, including 110 Chinese-language articles and 25 English-language ones, with focus on winter training exercises, military readiness in extreme climates, and the integration of new technologies such as unmanned systems and simulation-based combat drills. A standout international engagement was the PLAN’s participation in Pakistan’s AMAN-2025 joint maritime exercise, emphasizing anti-piracy and search-and-rescue collaboration.
The report also highlights PLA efforts to address internal training gaps and unit-level morale by promoting cross-training, political education, and Party-directed reforms. Articles focused on tactical evaluations, live-fire exercises, reconnaissance missions, and logistical improvements in frontier and high-altitude areas like Tibet and Xinjiang. The PLA resumed limited English-language media updates via a new ‘China Military Focus’ webpage.
