Exovera’s report, PLA Service Articles Published in April 2025, examines 188 Chinese- and English-language articles from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), analyzing coverage across the Army, Navy, Air Force, Rocket Force, and joint activities. April marked a shift, with the Navy (PLAN) surpassing the Army (PLAA) in article volume for the first time in 2025—largely due to coverage of the PLAN’s 76th anniversary. In total, 139 Chinese-language and 49 English-language articles were reviewed.
The Army remained prominent, with articles noting recurring challenges at the squad, platoon, and company levels—particularly around personnel turnover and readiness. Themes included live-fire training, rail-load exercises, and continued issues with morale, medical support, and equipment usage. Several articles referenced international joint training activities with Pakistan, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Egypt.
